I was looking to book a ticket for my wife from Sarajevo to Tirana. Her brother had collected United miles for some time. I booked an award ticket for my wife to travel from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Albania with a connection in Vienna for 12,500 miles. This also included a baggage allowance of one checked bag.
| Date | Flight | From | At | To | At | Airline |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WED 09 SEP | OS730 | SARAJEVO, BA (SJJ) | 14:40 | VIENNA, AT (VIE) | 15:55 | Austrian Airlines |
| WED 09 SEP | OS759 | VIENNA, AT (VIE) | 23:20 | TIRANA, AL (TIA) | 00:50 (+1) | Austrian Airlines |
With that, she was all set to get to Albania, thanks to United MileagePlus and, of course, her brother.
12,500 miles redeemed | 1 one-way ticket
1 country | 1 airline
Update:
This award ticket had to be cancelled because my wife’s wallet and passport were stolen in Belgrade, and she never made it to Bosnia and Herzegovina or Albania; the rest of our trip was completely derailed.
